WELCOME TO

Oakland’s vibrant, walkable hub where urban energy links with everyday livability.

Our Story

Northlake was born from a love for Oakland and the belief that every Oaklander deserves a safe, clean, and vibrant downtown.

While it may be Oakland’s newest neighborhood, Northlake is about honoring what already makes this city great — its people, its culture, and its sense of possibility.

Here’s Where We Are. Come Visit.

Northlake is a place for creativity, community, and growth.

Formerly Auto Row, Northlake is now home to an intersection of thousands of residents, top-tier companies, and dozens of Oakland-grown restaurants, bars, entrepreneurs, and retailers.

What was once a parking lot at 2270 Broadway has now become a dynamic public space.

Lot 2270 will host everyday community gatherings, weekly events, and large-scale activations.

Stay on top of what’s happening at The Lot by following us online @northlake.oakland.

Lot 2270

Northlake is a collaborative effort to uplift the area through thoughtful design and local partnerships.

It’s where every day spaces are transformed into places of energy, creativity, and community — a district where a parking lot can become a plaza, a storefront becomes a gathering spot, and the future takes shape without erasing the past.

Together, Northlake aims to deliver:

Our Initiatives

Community-driven events and opportunities for joy.

Neighborhood safety improvements.

Activated storefronts and retailer support.

Beautification and art in the public realm.

Northlake is a privately funded collaborative initiative spearheaded by local property owners, working alongside the Uptown Downtown Community Benefit Districts and the City of Oakland, with the intention to create lasting, positive change that benefits the city as a whole.
